Maceo Williams, Sage Clemons and Walkers Sanders of Gahanna were among several central Ohio students to have their original work selected to be a part of the 27th annual Columbus Children's Theatre Child Writing Project.

The theme for this year's project is "Magic, Mystery and MAYHEM!"

Williams is a second-grader at Royal Manor Elementary School. His piece is titled "The Dorito Attack." Clemons and Sanders are in the fifth grade at Royal Manor. Their combined piece is titled "My Teacher's Monkey."

The pieces are among 17 selected from more than 900 submissions from K-6 students from around the state.

Stories are judged on originality, theatricality and distinct flair. Winning entries are adapted into a script and presented as a full stage production by CCT's Professional Touring Company. It was debuted last month in Dublin and will be presented at schools throughout Ohio.
