John S. Stewart has met the Aug. 29 deadline to run as a write-in candidate for city council's Ward 4.

If Stewart's petition is certified, he will challenge incumbent Beryl Anderson.

Franklin County Board of Elections spokesperson Ben Piscitelli said the board would review the filings of write-in candidates Sept. 6 for certification.
