Gahanna's Giant Eagle will celebrate its new expansion with Ohio State University alumni.

The grocery store expanded to include such elements as a larger prepared-food and pizza section with a new sub shop, a cheese island and an Asian bar and will hold a grand reopening at 1250 N. Hamilton Road on Sept. 1 and 2.

On Sept. 1, former Buckeyes football coaches Earle Bruce will be in the store from 3 to 5 p.m., followed by John Cooper from 6 to 8 p.m.

OSU radio personality Jim Lachey will be there from 3 to 5 p.m. Sept. 2, followed by OSU play-by-play announcer Paul Keels from 7 to 9 p.m. Former OSU football player and radio host Craig Krenzel also will be available to sign autographs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Gahanna Giant Eagle leader Jason Rish said the store has a new sushi station, featuring fish from all over the world.

The store also has an expanded wine and beer selection, with a new state liquor store.

The store also features a new health, beauty and wellness department that is staffed with a licensed skin-care professional and dietitian who conducts wellness events.

An updated pharmacy with the Ohio State University Fast Care medical clinic also was included in the improvements.
