A Sprint spokesman told ThisWeek that disruptions in cellular service are handled as quickly as possible, following an April 19-20 outage in Gahanna.

"There were two issues late in the week in the Columbus area and they were power issues," said John Adams, Sprint communication manager. "It involved one tower in Columbus and one in Gahanna. There were two so it caused more time (to fix) than usual. Those were identified and repaired."

Adams said the outage started on Thursday, April 19 and continued through the evening on Friday, April 20.

"It was rare and unexpected," Adams added. "It was an anomaly. It's not expected to happen again. There can be situations with towers at times. When it does happen, we work to repair them as quickly as possible."
