Columbus Academy announces new head of school
Columbus Academy’s Board of Trustees selected Melissa Boocock Soderberg as its first female head of school.
Soderberg replaces John Mackenzie, who will leave in June after 16 years at Columbus Academy. Soderberg will start July 1, 2013.
The trustee announced Oct.12 that Soderberg, who is the current Upper School Director at Breck School in Minneapolis, Minn., will become the eighth head of school at Columbus Academy.
“We are thrilled to have Ms. Soderberg and her family join our community,” said Poe Timmons, chairman of the board of trustees and Chief Financial Officer at the Columbus Dispatch. “We are confident that she will carry on the fine work of John Mackenzie and lead Columbus Academy to continued success in the future.”
