Gahanna man charged with exploitation of children
Gahanna police executed a federal arrest warrant on James Alton Mills, 71, at 214 Flint Ridge Drive in Gahanna at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16.
The arrest warrant was filed by Homeland Security Investigations and Gahanna police detectives.
Carter M. Stewart, U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Ohio, charged Mills with sexual exploitation of children. The warrant alleges that Mills knowingly persuaded and/or coerced a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing visual depiction of such conduct, using materials that have traveled in interstate or foreign commerce.
Under federal law, if convicted, Mills could receive a minimum sentence of 15 years and not more than 30 years in federal prison.
Mills was arrested at his residence in Gahanna without incidence.
