Jazz Night, a casual evening of swing, rock, funk, and Latin music featuring Gahanna Lincoln High School's Jazz Bands I and II, will begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 26, in the GLHS cafeteria, 140 S. Hamilton Road.
The annual event is free and open to the public. Those who attend are encouraged to bring one non-perishable food or personal hygiene item to donate to the Gahanna Residents In Need (GRIN) Food Pantry. GRIN has indicated a special need for peanut butter, canned fruit, pasta sauce, shampoo, soap and toothpaste.
Refreshments will be available for purchase, with all proceeds going to the Gahanna Lincoln Instrumental Music Boosters.
The evening will highlight several senior soloists, including tenor saxophonist Chad Sandlin, who will play Body and Soul, George Simon, who will belt out the low notes on bass trombone during I Ain't Gonna Ask No More, the vocals of Carrie Whatley on Our Love is Here to Stay and Sana Selemon on Orange Colored Sky, and violinist Christopher Keener, who will serenade the audience with Over the Rainbow.
