Yearbook, WGLH-TV earn state honors

Gahanna Lincoln High School speech and television-production teacher Tom Gregory recently announced journalism awards recently won by The Pride yearbook and WGLH-TV broadcast journalism staffs.

The Pride yearbook staff's work placed at the state level at the State Journalism Convention at Kent State University earlier this month.

Categories and the students honored include: honorable mention in yearbook news photo, Abby Leppert; honorable mention in yearbook student-life spread, Julia Wolfson; honorable mention in yearbook student-life spread, Alli Wehrle; honorable mention in yearbook student-life spread, Anna Wilhelm; honorable mention in yearbook sports spread, Luke Liston; honorable mention in yearbook sports spread, Tara Smith; honorable mention in yearbook sports spread, Juhi Gupta; honorable mention in yearbook sports copy, Courtney Arbogast; excellent in yearbook photo illustration, Leppert; excellent in yearbook photo illustration, Gupta; excellent in yearbook feature photo, Leppert; excellent in yearbook student-life copy, Smith; and excellent in yearbook student-life copy, Arbogast.

The 2012 yearbook placed second in the entire state.

The WGLH-TV students' work also placed at the State Journalism Convention. Brook Ebersole received honorable mention in on-air talent; Beca Gavin, honorable mention in broadcast feature; Josh Gregory, honorable mention in broadcast feature; Kevin Crane, honorable mention in broadcast sports; Liston, honorable mention in broadcast news; and Ben Ross, honorable mention in broadcast sports and first in the state in broadcast news.
