Marin, Grimm earn recognition
The Girl Scouts of Ohio's Heartland Council recently awarded Rocky Fork Service Unit volunteer Diane Marin of Gahanna the Girl Scout Appreciation Pin.
The Appreciation Pin is given only once to recognize outstanding service to a geographic area or program delivery audience that furthers the council's goals.
The council also awarded Gahanna resident Judy Grimm the Thanks Badge, which recognizes an adult member whose performance is truly outstanding and benefits the total council or the entire Girl Scout movement.
Marin is the Adult Camporee chairperson, a council level safety facilitator, and service unit school liaison and troop committee member. She is in her sixth year as the chairperson for the Adult Camporee, which is the largest council adult services event. Marin also serves as a presenter and leadership facilitator at Autumn Adventure and Spring Xpo.
Grimm retired this year after serving for 20 years as a troop volunteer, service unit manager, registrar, cookie booth coordinator and as an assistant day camp coordinator. She works with more than 500 adult volunteers to deliver program to 1,000 girls in more than 90 troops at day camp in the Gahanna/New Albany area.
