Mayor assistant Braun leaves for state commerce job

Ten-year Gahanna employee Brandi Braun has left the city to take a position with the Ohio Department of Commerce, effective Wednesday, Nov. 13.

Braun served as Gahanna's assistant city administrator since 2009. She began working in the city in May 2003 as a part-time administrative aide in the mayor's office. In February 2004, she became the executive assistant to the mayor.

"It has been a true honor to work with the amazing residents, staff and elected officials of the city of Gahanna," Braun said. "During my tenure, I have been fortunate to witness and be part of the tremendous growth of Gahanna, and I am proud to have been a part of this community. I am thankful for the opportunity and experiences that have prepared me for this next step in my career."

Mayor Becky Stinchcomb said Braun has been a key player in her administration for more than 10 years.

"Her high level of professionalism, visionary ability to see the big picture, organizational talents and positive attitude and energy has added so much value to many of our efforts," she said. "To say she will be sorely missed is a huge understatement. But as sad as I am to see her leave, I am excited for her to take this next step in her professional journey. I wish her nothing but happiness and success."
