The Gahanna Department of Parks & Recreation has announced the return of its music entertainment series, Creekside Live, on the Rotary Stage at Creekside Plaza, 117 Mill St., beginning at 8 p.m. June 13.
The first act will be 1980s rock band Reaganomics.
New this year will be opening acts, kicking off at 6 p.m., for the summer concert series that provides live entertainment headlined by popular bands from the Midwest, including community favorites like Soul Kitchn', The Floorwalkers and SWAGG.
The concert series is made possible through partnerships with the Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation, Strathmore Development Co. and Yuengling.
New partners this year include the Gahanna Rotary Club, Funtrail Vehicle Accessories and Lew Griffin Insurance.
Alcohol sales help cover the cost of event expenses, and net proceeds benefit the parks foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides camp scholarships, park improvements and public art to the Gahanna community.
"We are excited for the summer season to begin," said Zac Guthrie, recreation supervisor for the city's parks-rec department. "With the beautiful setting at Creekside, there is no better park venue in central Ohio to enjoy live music."
Because of the support from last year's sponsors -- the parks foundation, Strathmore and Yuengling -- Guthrie said, the city was able to bring in such local talent as the Reaganomics and The Floorwalkers.
This year is expected to be bigger and better by featuring two live bands and additional community partners, Guthrie said.
Parking is free at the Creekside garage.
