Gahanna: Woman accused of running escort service out of hotel

Gahanna police recently responded to a report of woman allegedly soliciting out of a local hotel room.

A guest at Candlewood Suites, 590 Taylor Road, allegedly was operating an escort office from her room, according to a complaint received at 4:27 p.m. Aug. 20. The front-desk clerk told police he suspected a woman of soliciting, and he confirmed her phone number on a website. He even learned she charged $200 per hour, he said.

The woman was asked to leave, per company policy, and police escorted her off the property, but no charges were filed immediately.

In other Gahanna police incident reports:

• A stone was reported stolen from the front of a complex in the first block of Timbers Drive, according to a theft report received at 9:56 a.m. Aug. 20.

• Someone stole a purse out of a car that was parked in the garage of a residence in the 1000 block of Windtree Court, according to a report received at 9:03 a.m. Aug. 20.

• Three bikes were reported stolen in the 600 bock of Fleet Run Avenue, according to a theft report received at 2:43 p.m. Aug. 19.

• Tools, a GPS audio cable and a phone charger were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Sierra Drive, according to a theft report received at 6:37 a.m. Aug. 19.

• A resident in the 200 block of Avonwick Place left bags of clothing and household items near the driveway for Volunteers of America, but someone stole the items, according to a theft report received at 5:09 p.m. Aug. 18.

• Trees reportedly were cut down without permission in the 400 block of North Hamilton Road, according to a report received at 10:45 a.m. Aug. 18.

• An 8-foot fence was vandalized at Wesbanco Bank, 116 S. Stygler Road, according to a report received at 9:20 a.m. Aug. 18.

• A field roller belonging to the city of Gahanna was vandalized at McCorkle Park, 200 McCutcheon Road, according to a report received at 8:11 a.m. Aug. 18.

• Several vehicles were broken into in the 500 block of Vista Drive, according to a report received at 7:17 a.m. Aug. 18.

• Two Siberian husky dogs with collars were dropped at police headquarters after a woman found them at the Gahanna Swim Club at 7:04 p.m. Aug. 17. The dogs were picked up by Franklin County Animal Control.

• Vehicles were egged in the 1000 block of Venetian Way, according to a vandalism report received at 7:20 a.m. Aug. 17. A resident in the 900 block of Bryn Mawr Drive also reported that her house was egged at 9:15 a.m. Aug. 17.
