Another high school football season is under way and Week 1 is in the books. Here is a look at the Week 2 matchup for Gahanna Lincoln:

STRONGSVILLE (0-1) at GAHANNA (1-0)

Gahanna will be looking to start 2-0 for the first time since 2006 when it plays host to Strongsville on Friday, Sept. 2.

The Lions defeated DeSales 31-14 on Aug. 26 to extend their winning streak to four games, as they won their final three games last season. Strongsville opened with a 21-15 loss to Mentor Lake Catholic on Aug. 26.

Gahanna senior Tyler Grassman once again may be called upon to fill in at quarterback if starter Alec Tuohy can't play against Strongsville. A wide receiver on offense, Grassman moved to quarterback against DeSales midway through the third quarter after Tuohy left the game with an injury.

Grassman threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to tight end Kevin Mosley and rushed for a 1-yard touchdown. He also had a 35-yard touchdown reception before Tuohy was injured.

Tuohy completed 13 of 16 passes for 118 yards and one touchdown and also rushed for 70 yards on 16 carries against DeSales.

Gahanna coach John Snoad will be hoping for another impressive performance from the Lions' defense, which limited DeSales to 197 total yards and held one of the area's top running backs, Warren Ball, to 23 yards on 12 carries.

Countering an aggressive Gahanna defense will be Strongsville quarterback Austin Pritchard, who threw for more than 2,000 yards and 16 touchdowns last season. He completed 71 percent of his passes, as Strongsville finished 6-4 last season, including 3-2 in the Valley Division of the Northeast Ohio Conference.

Pritchard completed 17 of 37 passes for 216 yards but threw two interceptions against Lake Catholic.

Strongsville returned five starters on offense and six on defense.
