James Chakeres II of German Village will become a member of the Ohio State Fair Hall of Fame Thursday, July 30, during a luncheon at the Rhodes Center Auditorium.

James Chakeres II of German Village will become a member of the Ohio State Fair Hall of Fame Thursday, July 30, during a luncheon at the Rhodes Center Auditorium.

He has 34 years of service and participation in the Ohio State Fair. Chakeres began as a junior and open sheep exhibitor in 1975, and went on to participate in 4-H demonstration contests, special veterinary science and horticulture and floriculture exhibits. He currently serves as the ag/hort director.

Outside of exhibiting, Chakeres has served as the beef department assistant, clerk and announcer. He has also volunteered as a livestock judging contest organizer, official and skillathon facilitator.
