Nearly 600 students will participate in the recitals, which are free and open to the public. A formal reception follows each recital.

German Village residents Aidan Stone Berry and Christine-Olive "CoCo" Dobard are scheduled to perform.

New Directions Career Center will provide a free seminar titled "Effective Interviewing" from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, June 1, at the Parsons branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, 845 Parsons Ave.

The class will include information for job seekers, including how to present transferable skills effectively and how to overcome recruiter objections. Call NDCC at 849-0028, ext. 100.

Joke Jams, a new show combining comedy and music, will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 29, at the Hey Hey Bar and Grill, 361 E. Whittier St.

The show will feature comics Justin Golak, Dean Masello and Matt Horn. The three will perform along with the band Drawing Airplanes.

The cost will be $5 at the door.

The Dr. Kvitko Golf Classic will be held Saturday, July 1, at Bent Tree Golf Club in Sunbury and Royal American Links in Galena.

The tournament benefits Golf for Life, a program sponsored by the Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio. Golf for Life provides one-on-one golf instruction by PGA professionals to children and adults with Down syndrome.

Entry fees are $100 per person or $400 per team before June 1, or $125 per person or $500 per team after June 1. Hole sponsorships are $100. Fee includes breakfast, steak lunch, beer/beverages, green fees and cart.
