A portion of Gates from the alley west of Washington Avenue to Bruck Street will be closed to through traffic between 1 and 9 p.m.

All Merion Village residents are invited to attend and encouraged to bring a covered dish and beverage. Burgers and hot dogs will be provided by the association.

Entertainment will include live music, cornhole tournaments, cards and a raffle.

Children's entertainment will include a sidewalk chalk-decorating contest, plus bubbles and balloons.

Tables and seating will be provided.

Sarah Roell, co-chair of the Merion Village Society social committee, said it's a good opportunity for resident to meet each other and enjoy an afternoon outdoors.

"And also, (it's a good occasion) to realize the Merion Village Association is around and doing things around the neighborhood," Roell said.
