Tony Burroughs will be the guest speaker at the Franklin County Genealogical and Historical Society's African American Interest Groups Fall Conference.

The conference will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Columbus Metropolitan Library, 96 S. Grant Ave.

Court Appointed Special Advocates of Franklin County (CASA-FC) will host its 11th annual "Speak Up for Children" breakfast from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at the Hyatt Regency Ballroom, 350 N. High St.

The one-hour breakfast will serve as an introduction to CASA-FC. The keynote speaker is former congresswoman Deborah Pryce.
