It's not even Halloween and the Village Singers are already thinking about mistletoe and yuletide.

The German Village vocal group is holding open rehearsals for God Rest Ye Merry Villagers, a holiday concert slated for Dec. 15 and 16 in the Meeting Haus.

All vocal ranges and skills levels are welcome at the open rehearsal, which starts at 7 p.m. Sept. 9, said Wayne Owens, founder and manager of Village Singers.

The group also is accepting instrumentalists in addition to the accompanist.

"It gives us some flexibility we don't have without them," Owens said.

The cost to join is $25 per season and $5 for students, he said.

The show will feature traditional holiday tunes -- both sacred and secular -- with some scripted dialogue in between.

Karla Wright, who's directing her second full show with the group, said she's pleased with how well the vocalists come together.

"I love to direct them," she said.

"It's a challenge in a way because there are so many skill levels there," Wright said.

"I feel like people learn so quickly. The overall sound I've been really impressed with. It's fun watching people grow."

Got Christmas?, the 10th annual show held last year, was followed up by the Broadway-style musical, The Envelope Please, in May.

Owens said they were two of the most successful shows to date.
