Facets of Judaism focus of class

Sunday August 18, 2013 8:26 PM

Tifereth Israel Rabbi Eric Woodward will teach an Introduction to Judaism class from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. Tuesdays starting Aug. 20, at the synagogue, 1354 E. Broad St.

Woodward, the new assistant rabbi at Tifereth Israel, will discuss the holidays, rituals and prayers of Judaism in addition to theology, history and law.

The class is geared toward those who are thinking about converting, for people who are born Jewish and who want to check in on what Judaism might offer them, for people who are partnered with Jews and want to learn about their partner's religion or for anyone who wants to learn.

Sessions run through May.

Included in tuition are the Hebrew Reading Crash Course and the Crash Course in Jewish History (in cooperation with National Jewish Outreach Program). These will meet on 11 Monday evenings.

For more information, contact Woodward at 614-253-8523.
