German Village lost a friend and advocate last week.

Jo Plunkett of South Sixth Street died Oct. 10 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was 71.

Jim and Jo Plunkett moved to German Village about 10 years ago.

They had two children, Dave Plunkett, who still lives in the neighborhood, and Stephanie Plunkett, who now lives in Utah.

Jolene "Jo" Plunkett was born in Cincinnati and moved to central Ohio as high school freshman and graduated from Grandview Heights High School in 1960.

Dave Plunkett said his mother was an active skier and real-estate broker, and participated in many community events.

She and her husband were co-chairmen of the 2013 PreTour event for the German Village Haus und Garten Tour.

Jim Plunkett is a member of the German Village Garten Club.

"She lived life -- loved to travel, loved sports," Dave Plunkett said. "She lived a full life."
