Thieves, vandals target autos

Vehicles continue to be targeted by vandals and thieves in the German Village area according to Columbus police reports.

Someone broke into a car between 8 p.m. Oct. 12 and 7:25 p.m. Oct. 13 in the 500 City Park Avenue.

The victim reported someone rifled through the car and took some miscellaneous items.

Between 7 and 10 p.m. Oct. 17, a right front window was broken out of a vehicle parked at South Grant Avenue and Jackson Street.

In other recent Columbus police reports:

* A car was stolen between 1 and 10 a.m. Oct. 18 in the 700 block of Parsons Avenue.

* Between 6 a.m. and 5:16 p.m. Oct. 11, two screens were slashed at a house in the 800 block of Beech Street.

* An assault was reported at 3 p.m. Oct. 19 in the 100 block of East Whittier Street.

The victim said the suspect refused to pay for services rendered.

The victim then followed the suspect to the suspect's car. The suspect, in return, hit the victim with an umbrella.

No injuries were reported.
