Police beat

More residents report thefts from automobiles

Columbus police said several thefts from autos were reported recently in the German Village area.

* A $500 laptop and a $100 electronic device were stolen from a vehicle between 7 p.m. Oct. 26 and 9 a.m. Oct. 27 in the 400 block of Lazelle Street.

* At least $300 worth of merchandise was stolen between 10:40 p.m. Oct. 27 and 6:30 a.m. Oct. 28 in the 700 City Park Avenue.

The victim said the vehicle was locked and the alarm was armed.

* At least $150 worth of merchandise was stolen between 2:30 and 4 p.m. Oct. 28 from vehicle in 600 block of City Park Avenue.

* A $100 GPS device was stolen Oct. 29 from a vehicle parked in the 300 block of South Third Street. The victim claimed she chased the suspect from the scene.

In other recent Columbus police reports:

* Between 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 22, a copper drain pipe was stolen from a house in the 500 block of South Fifth Street

A car was stolen between 7 p.m. Oct. 26 and 4 p.m. Oct. 27 at the intersection of Lansing Avenue and Pearl Street.
