$900 of merchandise stolen from vehicle on Jaeger

Columbus Division of Police officers reported $900 of merchandise was stolen between 6:30 and 11:30 p.m. Dec. 8 from a vehicle parked in the 600 block of Jaeger Street.

The theft from the vehicle was one of several reported in the German Village area.

In other recent Columbus police reports:

* Between 11 p.m. Dec. 5 and 7:30 a.m. Dec. 6, someone stole $10 worth of change from a car parked in the 600 block of Brust Street. The victim told police it was second time in two weeks someone stole items from his vehicle.

* A work bag and keys were reported stolen at 9:51 p.m. Dec. 6 from a vehicle parked at the corner of East Beck and South Sixth streets.

* A cell phone valued at $450 was reported stolen between 11:50 p.m. Dec. 3 and 5:05 p.m. Dec. 4 from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Jackson Street.

* Between 9:25 p.m. Dec. 4 and 8:35 a.m. Dec. 5, someone broke the windshield of a car while it was parked at the intersection of South Third Street and East Columbus Street.

The victim told police the damage was $500.

* A woman living in the 500 block of East Beck Street reported $200 worth of damage was done to the back door of her house between 11 p.m. Dec. 6 and 12:35 a.m. Dec. 9.

* A 32-year-old Columbus man was arrested for trespassing at 11:16 p.m. Dec. 10 after an incident in the 100 block of West Sycamore Street.

A forgery was reported Dec. 9 at a business in the 600 block of South Third Street.

Police said someone passed two counterfeit checks to the business.
