Two robberies recently were reported in the German Village area.
One victim told Columbus police she was taking items out of the trunk of her vehicle at 10:08 p.m. March 26 in the 500 block of South Mohawk Street when the suspect hit her in the back of the head and stole her purse.
The victim said he chased the suspect for several blocks until he jumped into a car driven by an accomplice.
The estimated loss was $750.
Another victim, a Columbus woman, said she was robbed at 2:05 a.m. March 29 at the intersection of South Sixth and Sycamore streets.
The victim told police the suspect approached her and took her merchandise by force, causing her to fall to the ground and be dragged.
The suspect fled on foot southbound on Sixth Street. The estimated loss was $350.
In other recent area crime reports:
* More than $1,100 worth of merchandise was stolen between 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. March 30 from a house in the 500 block of South Fifth Street.
* Nearly $100 worth of groceries and diapers were stolen about 4:50 p.m. March 24 from a grocery store in the 200 block of East Whittier Street.
* Between 7:10 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. April 1, $2,900 worth of merchandise was stolen from a house in the 500 block of Elsmere Street.
