The German Village GartenMarkt is slated for 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 10 at the German Village Meeting Haus, 588 S. Third St.
This year's market includes 17 vendors who represent a wide range of styles, from handcrafted jewelry at Vintage Vamp in German Village to pottery art from Indiana.
The evening will be preceded by Jazz & Juleps, to be held from 7 to 9 p.m. May 9 on the platz (patio), of the Meeting Haus.
Tickets for Jazz and Juleps are $30 each and available in advance and the day of the event at the Meeting Haus.
Patrons get first dibs on vendor merchandise, as well as perennials and annuals, while sampling appetizers and beverages and listening to jazz music.
Reservations will be accepted through Friday, May 2. Registration forms are available online at germanvillagegartenclub.com.
GartenMarkt is the signature fundraiser of the year for the German Village Garten Club, which takes care of Frank Fetch Park, planters along South Third Street and other beautification projects. The Garten Club also holds educational meetings throughout the year.
"In my opinion Jazz & Juleps is like the first party of the spring in German Village," said Bob Mullinax, president of the Garten Club.
"It brings out neighbors who haven't seen each other over the winter.
"At GartenMarkt, we're going to have several booths of specialty plants that people aren't going to be able to find in their neighborhood nursery," Mullinax said.
"People come to get plants that their next-door neighbors aren't going have."
