For Actors' Theatre, 'the food's also the thing' in '14

This is going to be a great summer for Actors' Theatre and we hope you join us as we celebrate 33 years of performances in beautiful Schiller Park.

This year, in addition to our great plays, we are also focusing on good food.

After all, Shakespeare himself said: "Give them great meals"(Henry V act III:) -- and we are doing just that in 2014.

* Tent Dinner May 23: The Play's The Thing!

Dine under the stars at our annual Tent Dinner fundraiser.

Join us as we celebrate our past and toast our future.

This unique event will feature music, a wonderful dinner, laughter, and a silent auction, all capped off by a performance of Hamlet.

In terms of the play itself, all we can say is expect the unexpected.

Our casting of Shakespeare's most widely produced play, allows viewers to look at the play anew.

Tent Dinner tickets are $75 each and every dime goes to support Actors' Theatre.

Please join us this year and make it an annual tradition.

Reservations can be made on our website or by calling the office at (614) 444-6888.

* 2014 Plates & Plays in the Park

If you haven't picnicked in the park before one of our plays, you have missed a really special experience.

To make picnicking easier this year, we have partnered with several of our favorite village eateries to offer scrumptious boxed dinners on show nights.

Each of our restaurant partners will have their own special nights during our summer season to prepare a taste of their finest fare for you.

Menus and ordering information will be found on our website in the very near future.

All you will have to do is call or click and dinner will be ready. Then you can just pick it up on your way to the park. Katzingers is even delivering to the park. How easy is that?

If you do not want to dine outside, some of our restaurants will also be offering dine in, as well as post show dessert and drink options. How can you resist great food and a great show?

Our Dinner Partners Include: Max & Erma's, Katzinger's Delicatessen, The Brown Bag Delicatessen, the Red Brick Tap and Grill; Thurman Cafe, Schmidt's Sausage Haus un Restaurant and The Kitchen. And, the list is continuing to grow.

Check our website and Facebook page for the dates each restaurant will be providing dinner. Bon Appetite.

Our summer season will include:

* May 22 through June 22 -- Hamlet.

* June 26 through July 27 -- The Barber of Seville.

* July 31 through Aug. 31 -- The Merry Wives of Windsor.

See you in the park.
