German Village: Two houses burglarized in Village

Two recent burglaries in German Village were reported to the Columbus Division of Police.

In one incident, occurring between 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 30, someone pried open a gate to gain access to a garage in the 300 block of East Stewart Avenue.

A $300 lawnmower and $350 weed-trimmer were reported stolen stolen.

The other incident, which occurred between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. May 30, a suspect entered a garage in the 200 block of East Deshler Avenue. The victim told police nothing was stolen at the time.

In other German Village area crime reports:

* Sometime in the morning of May 31, someone stolen two black iron hanging flower pots with an estimated value between $60 and $80 form the front porch of a house in the 100 block of East Mithoff Street.

The victims told police they were gone for the house for 20 minutes, only to return to find the flower pots and flowers were gone.

* About 3:53 a.m. May 29, a witness told police he saw suspicious activity at a business in the 1000 block of Parsons Avenue.

Officers investigated the scene and discovered $200 worth of copper wires missing.
