A rash of burglaries was reported last week in the German Village area.
A thief walked away with $5,650 worth of merchandise after burglarizing a home in the 100 block of East Kossuth Street.
The victims told Columbus police the crime occurred between 7:45 a.m. and 3 p.m. July 1. Three computers, a video game machine, coins, collectible sports cards, cash and a computer bag all were stolen.
Another burglary was reported in the 300 block of East Frankfort Street.
A contractor, who was working on the house while the owners were out of the country, reported to police that the crime occurred between 6 p.m. June 26 and 8 a.m. June 27.
Tools valued at $1,800 were stolen from the house. Also, a $10,000 Honda Civic, which was parked inside a detached garage, also was stolen.
A third burglary was reported June 28 in the 500 block of East Beck Street.
The victim reported the crime at 1:24 p.m. and told police he watched the suspect remove a $600 mountain bicycle and run west off the property.

* There was an attempted burglary at a house in the 200 block of East Whittier Street.
The victim told police the crime occurred between 10 p.m. June 24 and 9 p.m. June 25.
The victim reported that someone tried to pry out a piece of glass on the front door to gain entry into the house but was unsuccessful.
* A theft from a motor vehicle was reported between 11:30 p.m. June 30 and 11:45 a.m. July 1 at the corner of East Whittier and Beech streets. The victim told police the thief got away with two bracelets worth a total of $2,000 and a purse valued at $120.
Several juveniles were detained after causing $300 worth of damage to the stage at the amphitheater in Schiller Park, 1069 Jaeger St.
Police said the criminal damaging occurred around 10:55 p.m. June 30.
Officers said the suspects, who were not identified in the report, will be in contact with the victims to take responsibility for the damage.
