Art Crawl promises diversity in its lineup

By

The 13th annual German Village Art Crawl is slated for 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 19.

More than 30 artists will display their merchandise in garages along Macon Alley between Whittier and Frankfort streets.

Tickets, $20 each, are available online at gvbusinesscommunity.com or at the gate. Proceeds benefit the German Village Business Community.

Greg Gamier, co-chairman of the event, said there's a little bit of something for everybody, including wearable art, home decor, ceramics and sculptures.

"Not everything is going to be a framed wall-hanging," Gamier said.

The German Village Society is using social media to promote the event while it's happening.

Patrons can snap photos post them on Instagram @germanvillage588, on the German Village Society facebook page and on twitter @germanvillage.

Those participating must use #GVArtCrawl to be considered for a prize.

It also allows the society to follow the trend during the event.

Photo contest winners will be chosen randomly. Prizes include tickets to a Columbus Crew game, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Zoombezi Bay, as well as dinner at G. Michael's Bistro.

There will be three performing artists and musicians on each block in addition to the other artists participating.

Restaurants such as Barcelona, Juergen's, Kolache Republic and Sidecar Catering will provide food samples.
