The city of Grandview Heights and the Grandview Community Association have come up with some ways to help minimize parking problems that may arise Saturday.

The Tour de Grandview Cycling Classic, Grandview Avenue street party, Grandview Hop and St. Christopher Church festival will all take place during the afternoon and evening on Saturday.

Parking for the Grandview Hop is usually available in the lot at St. Christopher, but the church festival will eliminate that lot.

Free parking will be available after 12 noon in the parking lots of National City Bank, Deyo-Davis Funeral Home and Edison Elementary (all on West First Avenue, west of Grandview Avenue).

Vehicles should not block the bank's ATM lane.

Residents should advise friends who are coming for the bike race or other events to come north on Broadview from Goodale or to go south on Broadview from Third, since Grandview Avenue will be closed between First and Second avenues.

The parking lot behind the Bank Block will remain accessible to Bank Block patrons from the north entrance.

Grandview Avenue will remain inaccessible until the close of the street party on Saturday night.

In addition, a free bike corral will be set up in the parking lot between Chapel Hill Floral and Grandview Chiropractic Center. Families are encouraged to ride to Grandview and use the secured and staffed bike corral.

Maps for both days are available on the cycling classic's Web site, www.tourdegrandview.com.

Several streets will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.

First Avenue from Glendale Avenue to Hope Avenue, will be closed from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
