Grandview resident Randy Schoedinger, CEO of Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Services, recently received the Service Above Self award from the Columbus Rotary Club.

Each year, the Columbus Rotary invites nominations of individuals who have effected positive and enduring change through their services to the community. Winners are chosen based on selflessness and are awarded a $1,000 check for the charity of their choice.

An active community member, Schoedinger has served on the board of directors of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio since 2005. He is the co-chair for the largest and most important fundraising event for the organization, Bowl for Kids' Sake.

Schoedinger is a graduate of Columbus Leadership, and is president of Green Lawn Cemetery. He is an elder and deacon at Broad Street Presbyterian Church.

Schoedinger is also dedicated to animals in the community as president of the Zoo Young Professionals organization and a member of the board of directors of the Capital Area Humane Society.
