City crews will begin collecting yard waste on April 6 in Grandview and Marble Cliff.

Grass and plant materials must be appropriately bundled or placed in biodegradable paper bags. The bags cannot exceed a 30-gallon capacity or weigh more than 50 pounds. Plastic and biodegradable plastic bags are not permitted.

Sod, soil and dirt covered roots are not accepted.

Yard waste collection will take place each Monday through November. The collection will take place on Wednesday when a holiday falls on a Monday. Yard waste should not be set out earlier than one hour prior to sunset the day before pick-up. Bundles or bags should be placed next to the alley or behind the curb at the street if no alley exists.

Residents may use a refuse container for yard waste, but it must display a "yard waste" sticker and weigh no more than 50 pounds. Limbs should not stick out more than 12 inches above the top of the container.
