The Marble Cliff Chamber Players will kick off their seventh season with a concert Sunday at First Community Church, 1320 Cambridge Blvd. in Marble Cliff.

The Marble Cliff Chamber Players will kick off their seventh season with a concert Sunday at First Community Church, 1320 Cambridge Blvd. in Marble Cliff.

The concert, "Trio de Force" will feature trios for violin, viola and piano by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Belgian composer Joseph Jongen, plus two additional pieces by Paul Juon and American composer and violinist Fritz Gearhart.

The Chamber Players will perform two other concerts at First Community this summer.

On June 5, "Beethoven: For and After" will feature music by Beethoven, Shostakovich and Russell Platt.

A June 14 concert, "Step it Up!" will feature Beethoven's "String Quartet in A minor, Op. 132" and Foote's "Piano Quintet in A minor, Op. 38."

The Chamber Players will also perform the "Beethoven: For and After" concert on June 5 and "Step it Up!" on June 12 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 55 W. Lincoln Ave., in Delaware.

The First Community concerts will begin at 5 p.m. and the Asbury concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The Marble Cliff Chamber Players concerts will be performed free of charge, although donations are encouraged.

Featured musicians will include Naumburg Cello Competition winner Clancy Newman, who will perform at the final two concerts, and violist Victoria Chiang from the Peabody Conservatory and Aspen Music Festival, who will make her Marble Cliff debut at the June 5 and June 7 concerts.

Local performers will include Columbus Symphony Orchestra members Charles Wetherbee, violin; Korine Fujiwara, violin and viola; and Brett Allen on viola.

Cellist Mark Rudoff from Ohio State University and Canadian pianist Cameron Bennett from Ohio Wesleyan University will also perform.
