Members of the Grandview Heights High School Marching Band will be in formation Monday to conduct the 10th annual band decal drive.

The fundraising effort collected more than $6,000 last year for the Grandview Band Parents Association, said Greg Berning, who is co-chairing this year's drive with his wife, Sue.

More than 120 GHHS band members will be going door to door beginning at 7 p.m. Monday selling 2010 band decals residents can purchase and display to show their support for the band, Berning said.

"People can give whatever they want or can afford, whether it's a dollar or $25 dollars," he said. "We've had people give $100 donations."

Proceeds of the sale will benefit both the high school and middle school bands, Berning said.

The band parents group uses the funds to help subsidize the cost of band camp, the purchase and upkeep of uniforms and instruments, travel expenses and other costs incurred by the bands, he said.

Anyone who is not at home during Monday's decal drive can send a donation to Grandview Band Parents, P.O. Box 12580 Columbus 43212.
