The Aug. 3 Great American Charity Softball Game In Grandview - a match between the Democrats and the GOP benefiting the TriVillage Mentor League - proved to be a winner for the young people of Grandview.

The event raised $1,500 from player, spectator and supporter donations for the TriVillage Mentor League. This funding will be used to support TVML's Mentoring & More! school-based mentoring program that serves Stevenson Elementary and Grandview Heights High School.

Thank you to event organizers Steve Von Jasinski, Greg Berning and Pete and Jennifer Lupiba, and everyone who umpired, announced, and played.

We would also like to thank Grandview Heights Parks and Recreation director Sean Robey and his staff for preparing the fields at Ray Buck Sports Park.

The TriVillage Mentor League is greatly appreciates the support.
