• Two Columbus men were cited Sept. 25 for trash collection license required after they admitted to take a car battery from the alley near Murrell Avenue. The men said they thought the battery was trash.

• A cab driver reported Sept. 25 that after dropping off a fare on Northwest Boulevard, he discovered his cell phone was missing. Officers attempted to contact the passengers the man had dropped off but were not successful. The incident remains under investigation.

• Officers Sept. 24 observed a Columbus man traveling on Goodale Boulevard at an excessive speed with headlights off. The man nearly struck a police cruiser as he disregarded the red light at Grandview and Goodale. A traffic stop was made in the parking lot of the municipal building. During the stop, another man pulled his vehicle into the lot and stated the suspect has struck his vehicle and was attempting to flee. Damage was observed on both vehicles. The suspect admitted to striking the victim’s vehicle and fleeing. He was arrested and charged with failure to stop after an accident, operating a vehicle with willful disregard for safety, no headlights and running a red light.

• A Columbus woman was arrested Sept. 24 and charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia, using plates from another vehicle and speeding.

• Officers were dispatched Sept. 24 to a building in the 1200 block of Grandview Avenue on a breaking and entering. It was determined that a total of $400 in cash had been stolen. A glass door sustained $500 in damage.

• A Columbus woman was arrested Sept. 24 and charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence.

• A Plain City woman was arrested Sept. 23 and charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence, drug abuse and failure to signal.

• A Columbus man was cited Sept. 21 for trash collection license required and driving under suspension.

• The PNC bank at 1530 W. First Ave. was robbed at about 4:34 p.m. Sept. 16. A man entered the bank and handed a teller a note stating he had a gun and wanted cash. Although no weapon was observed, the teller complied and gave the man money from her drawer. The man fled westbound from the bank. A witness may have seen the robber drive away in a blue-colored vehicle. The robber was described as a white male, in his 20s or 30s, six-feet tall with a thin build, goatee and moustache and wearing a dark baseball cap, blue T-shirt with an American flag on the front, blue jeans and white tennis shoes. Investigators believe the same man may have committed a Sept. 7 robbery at the PNC bank at 3500 W. • A Columbus woman was arrested Sept. 15 and charged with speeding, no operator’s license and driving under suspension.

• A resident of the 1100 block of Northwest Boulevard reported Sept. 14 his bicycle, valued at $300, was stolen from his side yard.

• A resident of the 900 block of Woodhill Drive reported that she discovered a number of items, including a pair of shoes, a pair of boots, a purse, a skirt and a shawl with fur collar, missing from her home.

• A Columbus man was arrested Sept. 12 on charges of making a U-turn, driving under suspension and on a warrant from Upper Arlington. He was released to Upper Arlington police.
