The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) will host a public workshop for Upper Arlington residents and others interested in staying abreast of trends in the real estate market.

The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) will host a public workshop for Upper Arlington residents and others interested in staying abreast of trends in the real estate market.

The free Oct. 6 workshop, to meet from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Municipal Services Center, will address how central Ohio communities develop and re-develop for a growing senior population, while continuing to focus on attracting and retaining young professionals, according to MORPC public information officer Bernice Cage.

The workshop, “Wake Up — Changing Trends in the Real Estate Market,” will include a keynote address by Kenneth Danter, president of the Danter Company, along with a panel discussion titled “Changing the Rules — To Get What You Want.”

The free workshop takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at the Upper Arlington Municipal Services Center, 3600 Tremont Road. A complimentary dinner will be provided. Northwest Counseling Services will host its 19th annual Behavioral Health and Wellness Workshop Friday, Oct. 21.

The workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Northwest United Methodist Church, 5200 Riverside Drive.

The day will include continental breakfast, door prizes and vendors. Workshop topics will include: Parenting Children and Teens; Helping Others by Helping Yourself; Domestic Violence; and Maternal Depression and Infant Attachment.
