The Grandview Area Chamber of Commerce's 2012-13 community directory is being distributed this month with the ThisWeek Grandview newspaper.

The directory, created in partnership with ThisWeek Community Newspapers, is being distributed to all residents and businesses in the 43212 zip code, as well as some businesses located near Grandview.

The 2010-11 edition was distributed only to residents.

"I think it's just as beautiful a product as the last directory we put out two years ago," said Michelle Wilson, the chamber's executive director.

"It's a nice coffee table publication that is nice to look at and provides a lot of important community information," she said. "We're very happy with the finished product."

The new edition of the directory will have a section listing all community businesses, but will not include residential listings this time, Wilson said.

Despite the best efforts, it is difficult to keep track of all residents who do not wish to be listed, she said.

"And the main purpose of the directory is to highlight our business community," Wilson said.

The directory will again feature a wealth of community and government information for Grandview, Marble Cliff and adjacent communities. A section will feature information about Destination Grandview, the new visitors and convention bureau now under development.

The previous edition of the directory was well-received in the community, Wilson said.'

"I heard nothing but positive feedback about it," she said.

The directory won first place in the Best Business Publication or Business Special Section category in the 2010 Suburban News of America Awards.

Later this year, the chamber will also begin distributing its quarterly newsletter as an insert in ThisWeek. The goal is to get the newsletter and its information about the chamber and member businesses in as many hands as possible, Wilson said.

The publication will continue to offer advertorial opportunities for member businesses, she said.

The new distribution arrangement is expected to begin in the third quarter of the year, Wilson said.
