The Grandview Heights Board of Education on Aug. 21 approved a new contract with the Grandview Heights Educational Support Staff Association, the union representing the district's classified staff.

"The tentative agreement provides for an increase in contributions from staff for traditional medical insurance, as well as a freeze in base pay for the 2012-13 school year," Superintendent Ed O'Reilly said. "In addition, the GHESSA agreed to terms that will help lower total health care costs over the life of the contract."

The union also has voted to ratify the agreement.
