Casino hosts Grandview chamber's new event

The Grandview Area Chamber of Commerce will present a new event with a formal setting designed to stand out from the chamber's two signature outdoor events.

The Spring Cha-Ching will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. March 22 at the Hollywood Casino, 200 Georgesville Road.

The evening will include a cocktail reception, dinner, live entertainment, a silent auction and gambling.

"Our Taste of Grandview and Digfest are casual outdoor events which go on no matter the weather," said chamber Executive Director Michelle Wilson. "We wanted to do another event that was indoors and would give people a chance to dress up and go out and have a good time."

The Cha-Ching will benefit the chamber and its scholarship program, Wilson said.

"We're going to be working with the school district to reformat our scholarship program a bit so that it can not only benefit students who know where they are going to college, but provide stipends for students who want to participate in career shadowing or an internship," she said.

The cost for the Cha-Ching is $75 per person, which includes a full dinner and two drinks at the opening reception, Wilson said.

The silent auction will include such items as an assorted case of upscale wines with wine rack; a year of pizza from Donatos; rooms and dinner from the Hyatt Place and Buckeye Hall of Fame at Grandview Yard; spa days; and office furniture, she said.

Items can be donated for the auction by emailing Wilson at or by calling 614-486-0196.

"We'll be happy to make arrangements to pick up items for the auction," she said.

Although the Cha-Ching will take place during the opening weekend of the NCAA men's basketball tournament, attendees will be able to keep up with the games if they wish at the casino's sports bar, Wilson said.

Of course, there will be access to all the casino's gambling activities.

"It will be a lot of entertainment in one place -- plus you'll be well-fed," Wilson said.

A table for 10 can be purchased for $650.

Sponsorships are available at various prices: $500 includes two tickets; $1,500 includes a full table; and $2,500 includes two tables.

All sponsors will receive full recognition for their generosity, Wilson said.

Reservations can be emailed to Wilson and tickets can be purchased by clicking on the invitation logo on the chamber's website,

The reservation deadline is March 8.
