Monsignor John Cody of St. Christopher Catholic Church will celebrate his 40th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood Sunday, April 28, with a special mass.

Monsignor John Cody of St. Christopher Catholic Church will celebrate his 40th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood Sunday, April 28, with a special mass.

The service will be held at 3 p.m. April 28 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 5750 N. High St., Worthington.

The mass is being held at St. Michael, Cody's home parish, because of the HVAC replacement project taking place at St. Christopher in April and May.

Cody, 66, was born in Columbus and attended St. Michael School, Bishop Watterson High School, St. Charles Seminary College and the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, where he earned his master's of divinity in 1973.

He was ordained March 24, 1973.

He taught several years at Bishop Watterson and was named pastor in 1981 at St. Ladislas Church in Columbus.

Cody served as pastor at St. Mary Magdalene Church and St. Francis of Assisi before being coming to St. Christopher in 2004.
