Imaginating Dramatics' 33rd annual Celebrate Kids!!! production will have a new look this year.

Rather than the traditional medleys from Broadway, children's shows and movies, this year's edition is an original show titled Stars For A Day. The musical revolves around girls auditioning for a new Broadway musical about the life of legendary Columbus-born actress, vaudevillian, screenwriter and singer Elsie Janis.

Playing the part of Elsie is Upper Arlington's Claire O'Brien. Familiar characters -- including Annie, played by Powell's Sarah Latzke; Dorothy Gale, played by Grandview's Audra Naille; and Oliver, played by Cllintonville's Eliza Thomas -- will be part of the Elsie Janis troupe. Also appearing are Grandview's Penny Dow as the stage director; Northland-area resident Megan Niper; Marisa Bernard from Hilliard; Iris Dow from Grandview; and Katie Massie from Licking Heights.

Imaginating Dramatics Executive Director Jill Eliot wrote the show and is the director; Celebrate Kids!!! alumnus Leah Shaeffer is the choreographer.

The finale of the show will honor its past with the patriotic song, God Bless America.

The show will be performed at the following times:

June 29 -- 2 p.m. at the Upper Arlington Public Library, 2600 Tremont Road.

June 30 -- 2 p.m. at the Grandview Heights Public Library, 1685 W. First Ave.

July 3 -- noon at the Genoa Park stage at COSI during Red, White & Boom!

All performances are free and open to the public.
