Tuesday July 23, 2013 7:39 PM

Grandview Heights police officers responded to a pair of incidents last week at C. Ray Buck Park, 1260 W. Goodale Blvd.

Officers were dispatched about 11 p.m. July 17 on a report of a naked man masturbating at the park. Witnesses told police that while the man was engaged in the act, he waved with his other hand for them to come toward him. The witnesses said they ran eastbound on Goodale to get away from the man. They described the suspect as a white man with a thin build, wearing black socks and a black T-shirt pulled over his face.

Parks and recreation department staff members reported about 11:45 a.m. July 15 that a juvenile was caught stealing drinks from a vending machine at the park. They said the boy was lying on the ground with his arm in the machine and that he had retrieved several drinks and was attempting to carry them away in his shirt. An officer caught up with the boy, who said he had put money in the machine and it began to dispense multiple drinks. He had 10 bottles of juice from the machine, which he admitted he had not paid for, according to reports. The juvenile was taken to his home and released to his mother. No charges were filed and the drinks were returned to the parks department.
