Grandview Avenue Farmers' Market, 10th season, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through October, in the parking lot of Vino Vino, Grandview Avenue and Third. The market is hosted by the Wagenbrenner Co., operated by Pearl Alley Growers', with support from Fifth by Northwest Commission. The market offers farm fresh seasonal produce, honey, fresh herbs, cut flowers, handmade herbal soaps, and homemade jams and jellies. The 2013 Columbus Fall Avant-Garde Art & Craft Show, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 21 at St. Agatha Church's Parish Hall, 1860 Northam Road. The event will feature nearly 100 artists and crafters selling original handmade items from jewelry and candles to repurposed furniture and yard art. Admission is $3, free for children under 12. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Columbus non-profit Local Matters. .
Christ Child Society of Columbus, annual Red Wagon Fare luncheon, 10:30 a.m. Oct. 16 at the Villa Milano Banquet and Conference Center, 1630 Schrock Road. The event features a luncheon, a boutique of vendors from Central Ohio, Christ Child Society sweets, baked goods and crafts, as well as a style show provided by Chico's from the Shops at Worthington Place and Belles and Beaux Children's Boutique. Proceeds support the projects of the Christ Child Society. This year, Project Starfish, a tuition assistance program for the Christ Child-Child Care Center at St. Stephens Community House will be the focus. AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program assists unemployed Franklin, Delaware and Licking county workers age 55 and over with securing employment. The program offers paid work experience, specialized training, upgrading of skills and job-search assistance. Age, income and residency requirements apply.
