Rain, wind, puddles and mud did not deter golfers Oct. 13 at the annual Byrne's Pub Golf Outing to benefit Crohn's and Colitis Research at Timberview Golf Club in Marysville.
The event, sponsored by Byrne's Pub in Grandview Heights, raised $3,254 for research.
The team of Nick Parker, Brian Parker, Steve Simmons and Michele VanDyke shot a blistering 13 under par to win the event. Second prize, at nine under, went to the team of Gary Demshar, Bart King, Dan Sherman and Rory McElroy. Proximity awards went to John Gleason and Cheryl Cummins for longest drive and to Colin Malone and Kelly Shank for closest to the pin.
Since 1999 a total of $134,664.64 has been raised from variety of golf outings, yard sales, car shows, donations and a band jam. Anyone interested in making a donation to Crohn's and Colitis Research can make a check payable to Nationwide Children's Hospital: C&C Research and forward to Harry R.
