The 35th Great Annual Pumpkin Run 5K, 9 a.m. Oct. 26, beginning and ending by Grandview High School on Oakland Avenue. Advance registration will be accepted at Grandview's recreation office until Oct. 23, by mail and until noon Oct. 25, in person. To register, online go to speedy-feet.com.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Give thanks. Walk. event, Nov. 23, at Franklin Park Conservatory, 1777 E. Broad St. The event features a family friendly after party, including face painting, Games2U, magician, live music and more from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Registration is free, but participants are forming teams and raising money online at givethankswalk.org to earn incentives. These efforts support St. Jude in finding cures to save children battling cancer and other diseases.

AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program assists unemployed Franklin, Delaware and Licking county workers age 55 and over with securing employment. The program offers paid work experience, specialized training, upgrading of skills and job-search assistance. Age, income and residency requirements apply. Columbus Speech & Hearing Center, Huntington Hearing Health Program in partnership with Huntington Bank, offering free hearing screenings from 1 to 4 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of every month, Columbus Speech & Hearing Center, 510 E.
