The 2013 Columbus Winter Avant-Garde Art & Craft Show, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 21, at St. Agatha's Parish Hall, 1860 Northam Road. This show will feature nearly 100 artists and crafters selling original handmade items. Admission is $3, free for children under age 12. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Columbus non-profit Pets Without Parents. The show is still accepting vendors. Medicare Counseling, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month at Wexner Heritage Village, 1151 College Ave. Volunteer Kathy Markus, a Medicare outreach specialist for the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging, will hold open office hours to discuss enrollment options, prescription drug plans and their benefits, Medicare Advantage plans, financial assistance programs for people with limited incomes and long-term care insurance. The free, confidential, one-on-one service is being offered in partnership with the Ohio Department of Insurance's Senior Health Insurance Information Program.
