Grandview Heights City Council is expected to vote on two pieces of legislation relating to the Grandview Yard development at its meeting Monday, Dec. 2.
The first ordinance is to accept the final plat for about 7.2 acres of property referred to as Grandview Yard Southeast.
The other measure would approve an agreement with the city of Columbus regarding municipal services and the allocation of taxes from property in the Yard that straddles both communities.
Council's economic development committee discussed the legislation prior to council's Nov. 18 meeting. The full council held second readings of the ordinances.
The area is bordered on the north by a new street put in just north of the Hyatt Place Hotel, on the east by the railroad tracks, on the west by Yard Street and on the south by Goodale Boulevard.
Nationwide Realty Investors, the Yard's developer, has announced that Hofbrauhaus, a restaurant and German-style beer hall, will open a location within the southeast parcel. The restaurant has a location in Cleveland.
The developer also is expected to present a proposed office development for the property at next month's planning commission meeting, Mayor Ray DeGraw said.
The planning commission approved the final plat at its Nov. 20 meeting, he said.
The proposed agreement with Columbus would apply to a parcel on the northern end of the Yard development.
Tax revenue from the parcel would be divided between the two communities based on the percentage of the parcel that lies within each jurisdiction.
Columbus would receive 76 percent of the tax revenue and Grandview 24 percent, DeGraw said.
Under the agreement, Columbus would have the responsibility and authority regarding the building-plan review, issuing building permits and completing fire and building inspections.
Columbus will charge fees for those services and Grandview would not receive any portion of the fee revenue.
A building permit would not be issued until Grandview issues a certificate of zoning clearance.
Each community will enforce its zoning code for the portion of the parcel located in its jurisdiction.
