Grandview Heights police responded about 3:15 a.m. Dec. 30 to a burglar alarm at a business in the 1200 block of Grandview Avenue.

When they arrived, officers found the back door was unlocked and the cash drawer missing after it apparently had been ripped from the computer workstation area, reports said. Several cords had been cut and other computer equipment had been knocked to the floor, according to reports.

An employee who works next door told police he had arrived about 20 minutes earlier and had not seen or heard anything.

In other recent Grandview police reports:

* A resident of the 1300 block of West First Avenue reported his car was stolen. The car had been parked in front of the house and was taken between 3 and 11 a.m. Dec. 28. The keys to the car, which had been on a table inside the house, also were taken, police said.

* Two residents reported recent thefts from their garages.

A resident of the 800 block of Northwest Boulevard reported Dec. 22 that someone entered her garage the previous week and stole four saddles.

A resident of the 900 block of Timberman Road reported a lawn mower was stolen between 9 p.m. Dec. 18 and 10:25 a.m. Dec. 19 from his garage.

* A resident of the 900 block of Northwest Boulevard reported Dec. 24 that about $1,265 was withdrawn from his bank account without his knowledge or consent. Five separate withdrawals were made in the Dayton area, reports said.

* An officer was dispatched Dec. 21 to West Jefferson to pick up up a woman on a warrant for a felony charge of receiving stolen property. Geanita A. Smith, 42, of Smith Street in West Jefferson was wanted in connection with a credit-card theft that occurred in November in Grandview, reports said.

* An employee of a business in the 800 block of Williams Avenue reported Dec. 18 that two signs attached to the building were missing. The metal frame that held the signs was stolen along with one of the signs, reports said. The other sign was found on the property.
