The Ready High School girls soccer program is looking for a new coach after Casey McKinney stepped down in early April, according to athletics director Ralph Locke.

McKinney, a 2005 Ready graduate who was a goalkeeper for the Silver Knights and went on to play for Wilmington College, left to take a teaching job in Pittsburgh.

In her only season as coach last fall, Ready earned the sixth seed for the Division III district tournament and lost to Columbus Academy 3-2 in a district championship game.

The Silver Knights went 0-5-1 to open the season but bounced back to finish with a 7-7-3 record. The district final appearance was the first in program history.

Ready tied Hartley for third in the CCL at 1-2-1 behind DeSales (4-0) and Watterson (3-1) and ahead of Columbus School for Girls (0-4).

The application deadline for the opening is April 25, according to Locke.
